Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist - Special interest in High-Risk Antenatal Care. Fixed-Term Locum Appointment - 6 Months. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a special interest in High-Risk Antenatal Care to join our Family & Specialist Services division. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to women with complex pregnancies while contributing to the wider obstetric and gynaecology service.

Responsibilities

Multidisciplinary team working and regular MDT discussions with colleagues; Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting; Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including administrative duties associated with patient care; Development of sub-specialty interests that fit in with Division needs and strategic direction; Carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties; Contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education; Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave; Participation in clinical audit and continuing medical education; Conducting duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances; Participation in out of hours consultant rota; Supporting the Clinical Lead in policy and strategy development; Contributing to leadership and development of services; Ensuring effective communication and involvement of staff; Working in partnership with colleagues in other Divisions; Assisting in cost-effective utilisation of resources; Working within Trust's framework for Clinical Governance and Risk; Direct supervision of junior colleagues; Participation in departmental/trust wide teaching programmes; Undertaking investigations and report writing for incidents; Embodying STAR values and using NHS Constitution principles

Requirements

Full GMC registration; MRCOG or equivalent approved by PMETB; CCT or eligible within 6 months of interview date and can demonstrate evidence that they are expected to achieve CCT or equivalent within 6 months; Pregnancy care SITM; Clinical training and experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology equivalent to that required to gain entry to the UK Certificate of Completed Training (CCT); High standard of clinical skill and expertise in Obstetrics; Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of Obstetric problems both emergency and elective; Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients; Skill to manage all aspects of Obstetrics care; Current UK professional registration

MD other relevant Higher Medical Degree or qualifications; Formal teaching qualification; Educational supervisor training
