SEND Teaching Assistant (Daily Supply Cover)

In this role you will be working with students from 11-19 years old who have a range of learning disabilities including severe and complex, sensory and physical, autism and challenging behaviour. You will be supporting students in a range of learning activities, therapy sessions, wellbeing and personal development sessions throughout the modern, purpose built school site. Based in heart of Peckham Rye, this specialist SEND School offers a high quality education, within an open and welcoming environment to young people aged between 11 and 19 years old with a range of learning disabilities. The school’s positive and focused community acknowledge the rights of the students to learn and develop as individuals. There is a multidisciplinary team with physiotherapists, occupational therapist, speech and language therapists and special school support assistants, all working co-cooperatively with the teaching staff to meet the individual needs of the students. Responsibilities

Supporting secondary age pupils with varying severe and complex learning needs; working with students from 11-19 years old who have a range of learning disabilities including severe and complex, sensory and physical, autism and challenging behaviour; supporting students in a range of learning activities, therapy sessions, wellbeing and personal development sessions throughout the modern, purpose built school site

Requirements

Previous experience working with children with SEND in any capacity or a true passion to follow a career in this area; passionate about supporting young people with SEND; available on a full-time basis
