Senior Manager - Solutions Engineering

Responsibilities

Leading and growing the pre-sales SE team, hiring, coaching, and setting a high bar for technical and commercial craft; Joining the biggest deals, including discovery calls, architecture sessions and exec conversations; Owning how the company sells technically: discovery, demo standards, POCs and RFPs; Partnering with Sales leadership on pipeline, forecast and deal strategy, and clearing technical risk in opportunities; Building business cases a merchant's CFO will sign off on, covering auth rate uplift, cost savings and resilience; Acting as the voice of the merchant inside Primer, turning field patterns into input for Product; Defining how to measure SE impact on win rate and deal velocity, and using that to decide where the team spends its time

Requirements

Experience leading a pre-sales or Solutions Engineering team in the payments industry, B2B SaaS or infrastructure; A strong emphasis and track record hiring and developing Solution Engineers; Experience applying MEDDPICC throughout your SE playbooks; Deep technical fluency, including whiteboarding an API integration and talking through SDKs, webhooks and auth flows; Real commercial instinct, having shaped and closed complex enterprise deals and tied technical wins to revenue; Confidence at exec level, with merchant leadership and internally; Experience building structure around a pre-sales function, not just running one that already existed
