Custody Detention Officer - Bank

Custody Detention Officer role working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees. Supporting detainees during their time in custody, working with other agencies to support rehabilitation. Full training provided. Bank opportunity with minimum 2, 12-hour shifts per month. The next ITC course is due to start September 2026; you will be expected to complete national Police Vetting prior to starting the role.

Responsibilities

Caring for detainees; Supporting detainees during time spent in custody; Working with other agencies to support and help with detainees' rehabilitation; Providing individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs; Escorting detainees; Making recorded observations as per their individual plan; Working with colleagues and the Police to deal with any detainee at risk of harming themselves

Requirements

Reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy; Full valid driving licence; Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years; Valid British passport/settled status; Subject to police vetting checks; Complete national Police Vetting prior to starting the role

Previous experience working within police, security, or armed forces would be beneficial
