Simon MBA Career Consulting Prog Dir - Consulting

To function as an Industry Specialist focused primarily on fostering career preparedness and advancing employment outcomes for MBA Consulting students. The Career Consultant for MBA Consulting will be the primary contact for Simon Consulting students, alumni, faculty, and hiring managers. Manages a portfolio of hiring relationships as well as a caseload of students while contributing to the Benet Career Management Center's mission of preparing students for successful careers.

Responsibilities

To function as an Industry Specialist focused primarily on fostering career preparedness and advancing employment outcomes for MBA Consulting students; Serve as the primary contact for Simon Consulting students, alumni, faculty, and hiring managers; Manage a portfolio of hiring relationships and a caseload of students; Support employment outcomes through strategic employer engagement, including meeting with hiring managers and senior alumni at major strategy firms and developing strategies for generating opportunities at other firms; Provide individualized career coaching and professional development to MBA candidates pursuing consulting careers; Conduct and critique mock interviews and arrange additional interviews with industry experts; Design and deliver workshops and presentations relevant to students' career interests, employer expectations, and market needs; Work as part of a team responsible for large group programming and communication throughout the year; Perform office management, supervisory, and other assigned duties

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to travel in the US and overseas as needed

Nice to have

Master's degree such as MBA preferred; 10+ years of relevant work experience preferred; MBA or degree/coursework in management consulting preferred; Customer/client-facing work experience such as management consulting, recruitment management, executive search, relationship management, sales, business development, or graduate business career services preferred; Proven record of involvement in coaching, mentoring or developing others in corporate setting preferred; Proven record of business development preferred; Knowledge of MBA recruiting and hiring practices in consulting highly desirable; Knowledge of consulting labor markets for international and domestic MBA students strongly preferred; Experience with dealing with senior management, presentations, project management, Intermediate Excel, PPT/deck building, data collection and analysis, team building, supervision preferred; Desired attributes include organization, time management, process improvement, customer feedback loop, results orientation; Experience living or working internationally or working with international students or employees desirable; Willingness and ability to work nights and week-ends as needed to meet program objectives preferred
