Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Responsibilities

Perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units; Perform ongoing systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post treatment for assigned patients and document in the patient medical record; Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education; Direct and provide safe effective patient care for assigned patients for all modality-specific treatment procedures; Administer medications as prescribed and document appropriate medical justification and effectiveness; Initiate and assist with emergency response measures; Serve as a resource for the health care team and participate in staff training and orientation of new staff; Complete CAP requirements to advance; Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Current appropriate state licensure; Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification; Must meet the practice requirements in all states in which employed; Minimum 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse; Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience; Acute RN dialysis experience; Leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment; Capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service; Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as an RN; 6 months experience in acute dialysis as an RN

Nice to have

12 months experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred); 6 months acute dialysis experience (preferred); Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience (preferred); Compassionate; Flexible; Independent; Quick-thinking; Patient; Responsible
