Advanced Clinical Educator- Cardiac

Baptist Health Simulation Center. The RN - Advanced Clinical Educator has demonstrated a commitment to higher education and is responsible for developing staff throughout Baptist Health by providing expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader, and Researcher. This Advanced Clinical Educator will focus on Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and CV Recovery. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Responsibilities

Support the development of new and current staff throughout Baptist Health; Foster empowerment and development of knowledge through evidence-based practice, relationship based care, SMART principles, and principles of adult learning; Utilize the Benner Model to move staff from novice to expert; Facilitate the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education and leadership development; Serve as a role model of professional behavior; Perform additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role

Requirements

MSN required; at least 2 years of teaching/education experience in the clinical or academic setting; minimum 5 years clinical experience in the area served (Critical Care, Med/Surg, Women's Services, Peds or ED); Active RN license required; BLS required; ACLS, PALS, service line specific, etc. certifications may be required depending upon area assigned; Knowledge of principles of adult education; Evidence of commitment to continuing education; Ability to work independently and in a team environment; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Ability to develop curriculum and teach in a classroom setting; Position requires sitting for 70% of the workday and mobility 30% of the workday; Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action; Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds; Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation by phone or in person; Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range; Much exposure to computer work; Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock; Some exposure to infectious disease; Some exposure to hazardous chemicals; Occasional exposure to radiation
