AI Operator - Platform Delivery

Distyl is an applied AI technology company partnering with the world’s most ambitious institutions to rearchitect critical operations for the frontier of AI. Distyl deploys production AI into some of the most complex operating environments in the world, and does it in weeks. At Distyl, this role sits inside our platform and product organization as the technical program manager behind everything we ship. You bring order to complex, multi-team technical programs, understand engineering tradeoffs well enough to make real calls, and close the gap between ambition and execution. This role is the operational and technical backbone behind product delivery.

Responsibilities

Own the Program Roadmap: define scope, sequencing, and dependencies across engineering work-streams; Drive cross-functional and technical alignment with engineering leads and executives; Manage technical tradeoffs by understanding system design; Operate at maximum velocity in fast-changing environments; Operate as an AI Native TPM using the latest models and tools; Write the playbook for program management practices, sprint cadences, and reporting templates.

Requirements

Bring order to ambiguity without slowing things down; Run complex, multi-team technical programs end to end as a Technical Program Manager at high growth software or AI companies; Open to Chiefs of Staff, COOs, or operators from high intensity environments with real technical programs shipped; Hold yourself and your teams to a high bar; Strong communicator across all levels; Raiser of the bar; Comfortable in chaos; AI-native, actively uses frontier AI tools in daily work; Deeply engaged in standup, architecture discussions, and data; Understand engineering tradeoffs well enough to make real calls; Hold engineering, product, and research teams accountable to a shared roadmap; Expect ~20% travel.

Nice to have

The strongest candidates have run complex, multi-team technical programs end to end as Technical Program Managers at high growth software or AI companies; Open to Chiefs of Staff, COOs, or other operators from high intensity environments, provided you can point to real technical programs you've shipped, not just status meetings you've run.
