Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting

Assists in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property employees. The position provides the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing the return on investment. In addition, assists with the creation and execution of a business plan that is aligned with the property and brand’s business strategy and focuses on the execution of financial and accounting activities and the delivery of desirable financial results.

Responsibilities

Assists in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies to deliver products and services; Provides financial expertise to enable successful implementation of brand service strategy; Assists with creation and execution of a business plan; Assists in developing means to improve profit; Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans; Analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales; Assists in creation of annual operating budget; Provides analytical support during budget reviews; Assists in implementation of system of appropriate controls; Ensures strong accounting and operational control environment; Analyzes financial data and market trends; Provides ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department’s actual and projected sales; Produces accurate forecasts; Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence others; Communicates strategic goals and owner priorities; Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes; Conducts annual performance appraisals; Understands and meets needs of key stakeholders; Manages property working capital and cash flow; Facilitates critique meetings; Ensures profits and losses are documented accurately; Monitors all taxes; Submits reports in a timely manner; Develops and supports achievement of performance goals; Improves profit growth in operating departments; Reconciles balance sheet; Ensures P&L accuracy; Ensures compliance with management contract, reporting requirements, and SOPs/LSOPs; Ensures team members are cross-trained; Ensures property policies administered fairly and consistently; Ensures new hires receive orientation and training; Creates development plans; Conducts performance review process; Participates in hiring activities

Requirements

4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; 1 year experience in the finance and accounting or related professional area; OR Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; no work experience required
