Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager role at the Baron of Beef, a Grade II listed pub in the heart of Cambridge, dating back to 1752. The role involves working closely with the General Manager to help lead the pub, support the team and drive the business forward, with live music, karaoke, live sport, pub food and a well-stocked bar offered throughout the week.

Responsibilities

Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub and lead the business in their absence; Lead and motivate the team, creating a positive environment where people can do their best work; Bring the Baron of Beef to life by delivering great customer experiences and a welcoming atmosphere; Take ownership of your shifts, confidently making decisions and keeping things running smoothly when it gets busy; Support the team with training, coaching and development; Help drive sales and maximise opportunities across our food, drinks, entertainment and live sport offer; Build strong relationships with our customers and help maintain the pub's excellent reputation; Champion high standards across service, food, cleanliness, safety and compliance; Bring new ideas and energy to the business and look for opportunities to help us grow; Develop your own management career with the support and training to help you take your next step with Greene King

Requirements

Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or similar hospitality leadership role; Experience working in a busy pub, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment; A genuine passion for delivering great customer experiences; Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and get the best out of your team; The confidence to take ownership, make decisions and lead a shift; A positive, hands-on approach; A commercial mindset and an interest in finding ways to drive sales and grow the business; High standards and attention to detail across service, food, safety and compliance; The ambition and motivation to develop your career and progress with Greene King; A Personal Licence, or the ability to obtain one
