Assistant Site Manager

Under the direction of Site Manager, the Assistant Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, and maintaining efficient and high-quality service delivery. This role involves managing a team of staff, implementing operational procedures, and driving financial performance to meet or exceed company goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical knowledge relevant to the shop's industry, and outstanding organizational skills. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, handling customer inquiries and complaints, optimizing workflows, managing inventory and supplies, and analyzing financial reports to ensure the shop's profitability and operational success.

Responsibilities

Overseeing daily shop operations and ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repair jobs; Implementing and upholding operational procedures and policies; Managing repair job scheduling; Maintaining high customer service standards and resolving complaints; Building and sustaining strong customer relationships; Recruiting, training, and supervising shop staff; Supporting performance reviews and providing coaching and development opportunities; Monitoring and managing the shop's budget and analyzing financial reports; Ensuring all repair work meets AAR and industry standards; Conducting regular quality control inspections; Enforcing safety protocols and regulations; Overseeing procurement, storage, and inventory of parts and supplies; Managing maintenance and repair of shop equipment; Implementing inventory management strategies; Staying informed about industry technologies and repair techniques; Utilizing shop management software; Promoting adoption of new tools and technologies; Developing and enforcing environmentally friendly practices; Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards

Requirements

2-3 years of experience in leading teams and managing business operations; Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a strong safety record; Knowledge of working in confined spaces and at heights; Proficiency with computers, particularly Office 365; Adherence to health and safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment; Strong skills in customer service with a keen focus on detail and quality; Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; Ability to perform effectively under pressure; Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities; Valid driver's license required; Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed; Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on expanding the customer base and identifying growth opportunities

Nice to have

Familiarity with welding techniques; Experience in process management, quality assurance, and rail repair; Familiarity with AAR rules and M1002/M1003 standards
