Athletic Trainer - Youth Soccer - FT - Flex - Broward - JDCH

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services for local schools, community events, and sport specific rehabilitation/reconditioning for injured athletes. Provides service to school age, adolescent and adults and performs job duties within the Sports Medicine Program. These duties include evaluation of injured athletes and assessment of capabilities.

Responsibilities

Provides athletic training services for local schools, community events, and sport specific rehabilitation/reconditioning for injured athletes; Provides service to school age, adolescent and adults and performs job duties within the Sports Medicine Program; Evaluation of injured athletes and assessment of capabilities; Completes Memorial Healthcare System's policies training to include Blood Borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan training, HIPPA, and compliance with all organizational regulations; Establishes daily hours of operation for the athletic training facility and maintains a clean and sterile environment for medical use; Develops comprehensive venue and condition specific emergency action plans that are rehearsed annually; Establishes a working relationship with the supervising physician, designated team physician, community physicians, school nurses, other healthcare professionals, athletic directors, and coaches

Requirements

Bachelors (Required); Athletic Trainer License (State of Florida); BLS American Heart E-Card; BLS American Heart RQI E-Card; BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard; BLS Certification Grace; BLS Cert Red Cross; Board of Athletic Trainer Certification; Fingerprint Screen (Florida DCF); Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field required; BLS from Red Cross or American Heart Association required; Employment contingent upon successful completion of Level II Criminal History record check; No prior work experience required; Critical thinking skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to build and foster positive relationships; Knowledge about a large range of medical problems; Assessment and evaluation skills; Ability to work with other healthcare professionals; Attention to detail; Ability to maintain adequate medical records; Ability to communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situations
