Atrium Health EMS Paramedic – Interfacility Ground Transport

Responsibilities

Completes skills check in a timely manner with accuracy; Maintains clean environment, including base and vehicles in mission-ready status; Checks, restocks and cleans at the beginning of the shift and as needed; Provides accurate and legible documentation of patient care and places charts in the patient's medical record in a timely manner; Reviews charts regularly with leader/manager; Provides quality patient care and education per policies, state regulations, Medical Director approval and professional standards of care; Administers medications and IV solutions safely, correctly and per policy; Follows guidelines and procedures independently when Medical Control is not available; Assists with public relations and marketing activities when needed; Follows safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring crew and passengers wear seat belts; Follows vehicle assignments as directed by the department, with flexibility for schedule changes; Drives in accordance with Advocate Health policy and local and state regulations

Requirements

High school graduate or GED; Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program; Current applicable state EMT-P certification; BCLS certification; ACLS certification; SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic certifications within 90 days of hire, maintained throughout employment; Approved trauma certification within 6 months of employment; Advocate Health approved driving course within 90 days of hire, maintained throughout employment; One-year active field pre-hospital experience; Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training; Valid driver's license; Driver's license held for a minimum of 2 years; Qualifies as insurable under Advocate Health insurance carrier requirements for driving MedCenter Air vehicles; Operational smartphone for MedCenter Air operations communication

Nice to have

NC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic certifications at time of hire; PALS; S.T.A.B.L.E.; NRP; Three years total paramedic experience
