Building Engineer

The Building Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of building systems and equipment. This role ensures the facility is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations while providing a high level of service to tenants and stakeholders.

Pay: 34.00 - $38.00/hour.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems; Monitor and maintain building automation systems (BAS/BMS); Conduct regular inspections of facility systems and identify potential issues; Respond to service requests and troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely manner; Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies; Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs; Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance; Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability efforts; Assist with emergency response and after-hours issues as needed; Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical and work areas

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school preferred; 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering role; Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems; Experience with building automation systems preferred; Relevant certifications (EPA, HVAC, or Journeyman license) a plus; Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively; Good communication and customer service skills; Basic computer skills for work orders and reporting systems; Attention to detail and commitment to safety
