Business Systems Architect – Finance (D365 FO)

Axon Enterprise is growing fast, and we’re looking for a trailblazing Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect to help us scale. As a Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect, you’ll be at the center of designing and implementing solutions that support Axon’s financial operations and rapid growth.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and implementation of financial solutions within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations; Conduct fit/gap analyses and develop design specifications; Design integrations with other financial systems for revenue recognition, tax compliance, financial consolidations, and reporting; Partner with finance stakeholders to assess, refine, and automate key financial processes; Oversee full lifecycle of finance-related projects in D365 FO; Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, finance teams, developers, and cross-functional partners; Act as trusted advisor to Axon’s finance leadership team; Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting; Provide training and documentation to finance teams and end-users; Mentor and guide the functional analysis team; Serve as point of contact for all D365 FO finance-related matters; Lead financial activities related to mergers and acquisitions; Partner with Finance, IT, and Enterprise Architecture leaders to deliver AI-enabled capabilities; Stay informed of latest D365 Finance, Power Platform, Copilot, AI, and Microsoft cloud capabilities

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and leading design/implementation of finance-related systems; Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and Dynamics 365 Finance modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets); Experience creating and implementing legal entities, intercompany trade, financial consolidations, currency revaluation, financial dimensions and account structure configuration; Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and revenue recognition; Experience designing and implementing electronic reporting solutions and building reports in Financial Reporter; Proven ability to manage complex projects from requirements to execution; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Comfortable working with senior finance leadership, stakeholders, developers, and analysts; Familiarity with integrating D365 FO with other enterprise applications, ERP systems, and legacy platforms; Experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled business solutions, Microsoft Copilot, intelligent workflow automation, predictive analytics, or process optimization technologies; Ability to identify practical applications of AI in finance operations with governance, compliance, and data quality; Solid understanding of Microsoft technology stack including Power Platform, Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, and modern data/AI technologies

Nice to have

Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and/or Scaled Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps, Jira and SharePoint; D365 certifications in Finance or other relevant modules
