Cardiac Sonography and Echocardiography Technologist - PT - Days - Up to $7,500 Sign on Bonus - MPG

Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization; May travel to satellite locations to perform diagnostic procedures; Performs advanced diagnostic imaging (3D, myocardial mechanics, mechanical circulatory support devices, transcatheter therapies, etc.) when applicable; Reviews patient history and physician's orders; Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation; Prepares equipment and supplies; Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters; Applies safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment; Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary; Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; Analyzes imaging results and takes appropriate action to improve image quality for optimal results; Enters, transmits, and reports thorough comprehensive preliminary report of study data to physician staff; Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team; When applicable, prepares and administers ultrasound enhancing agents (UEA) and/or medications within scope of practice; Monitors patient condition and reports changes in status as align with department policy

Requirements

Accredited Program: Ultrasound Technologist (Required); Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association; BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association; BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association; BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential; BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross; Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program; Associates degree (or higher) in a related field acceptable in lieu of completion of an Ultrasound Imaging/Sonographer Program; Appropriate credential in Echocardiography: Adult - RDCS (AE) from ARDMS, RCS by CCI, or ACS from CCI; Pediatric - RDCS (PE) from ARDMS or RCCS from CCI; One (1) year of experience working in an IAC accredited institution for Adult Echocardiography; in lieu, credentialed new grads within 1 year of graduation; One (1) year of experience imaging congenital heart defect and surgical repairs in an IAC accredited institution for Pediatric Echocardiography; in lieu, new grads within 1 year of graduation; Must obtain credential within six (6) months of starting position for Pediatric Echocardiography; Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
