Certified Surgical Tech (CST) / Scrub Tech

Part-time Surgical Tech position at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin in Milledgeville, GA. Schedule 7a-3p, 40 hours per week, call required. Benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates competency in the physical care of the patient according to unit patient care standards; Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment for the patient; Reports pertinent patient information in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner; Establishes therapeutic relationships with the health care team; Maintains confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies; Time management, problem solving, prioritization, and organization of work and environment; Participates in maintaining supplies, equipment and pod cleanliness; Participates in quality assurance activities; Preparation and maintenance of a sterile field; Assembling of instrumentation and equipment needed for procedures; Preparation, collecting and handling of all specimens; Assisting with emergency situations; Revising surgeon preference cards; Anticipating the needs of the surgeon; Prepping of patients; Counting of sponges/tapes/needles/instrumentation; Assist in Instrument Processing; Effective and efficient use of supplies and equipment; Assist the nurse in moving patients, cleaning the room, and assembling next-case supplies

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; Successful completion of Surgical Technology program (technical or military); Certification in Surgical Technology; Ability to use visual near and distance acuity; Verbal ability to communicate in person, over the phone, or by radio; Ability to lift 25-60 lbs and carry 25-50 pounds; Functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities; Ability to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel, and change positions rapidly; Ability to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres, and noxious odors; Ability to remain calm under stressful situations; Ability to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously

Nice to have

One year experience preferred; Competency in 2 or more specialties; Serving in Preceptor role after completion of Preceptor Training
