Certified Veterinary Technician

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is a small animal general practice in Windham, New Hampshire, accredited by AAHA. Our Treatment Technicians are responsible for phlebotomy, catheter placement, cystocentesis, fine-needle aspirates, animal restraint, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, running treatments on our appointments and stellar patient care. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Training includes virtual and hands-on, interactive training and continuing development.

Requirements

A certified veterinary technician; 1+ year experience preferred but not required; Open to new graduates from an AVMA accredited program who are waiting to take the VTNE; Top-notch technical skills; Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work; Computer skills; Pays attention to detail and is a fast learner; Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely; Interpret medical records and record client history accurately; Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow; Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner; Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin; Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs; Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery; A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one's knowledge and skillset; Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner to maintain hospital efficiency

Nice to have

Avimark experience; Experience working in an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital; Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
