Class A CDL Driver

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities. This is a hands-on regional delivery driving position.

Responsibilities

Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations; Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas; Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law; Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle; Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact; Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly; Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment; Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed; Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines; May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable); 1 year of flatbed experience; Clean driving record; Willing to strap flatbed loads; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.; Multi-drop delivery experience a plus; Ability to work independently or with a team; Ability to plan and manage time efficiently; Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
