Clinical Psychologist

This position exists to provide essential evaluation and psychological treatment to patients of the Wyoming State Hospital per its mission statement. This individual is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients at the WSH. The psychologist provides administration, interpretation, and write-up of psychological testing administered to patients as requested. This position also conducts group, individual, and family psychotherapies for assigned patients.

Responsibilities

Provides psychological evaluation for purposes of admission screening, treatment planning, diagnostic clarification, readiness for discharge, and community placement, guardianship, and as required to determine eligibility for other services; Diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders, including individual, group and family therapies and cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques; Provides and interprets psychological testing, including evaluation of mental illness, intelligence, personality, and neuropsychological functioning; Confers with interdisciplinary care teams to discuss, plan, and determine course of action in patient/client care; Designs, constructs, installs, and implements treatment programs for a treatment unit, section, or group

Requirements

PsyD or PhD in Psychology; 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Psychology); Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wyoming; Knowledge of clinical supervision techniques, theory, and practices; Knowledge of working in an inpatient facility; Knowledge of working in and designing interdisciplinary treatment plans; A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I.; Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions; Must be eligible to work in the United States via E-Verify; Employees will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19
