Commercial Litigation Lawyer

The Commercial Litigation group advises clients across a wide range of industries and sectors, including media, technology, telecommunications, private capital, property, financial advisory and investment, entertainment and retail. The team handles a broad spectrum of complex and high-value disputes, providing strategic and commercially focused advice throughout all stages of litigation and arbitration proceedings. The successful candidate will have experience managing smaller matters independently, while contributing effectively as part of a wider team on larger and more complex disputes. This role offers direct exposure to Partners and Senior Lawyers, as well as meaningful client contact and responsibility from the outset.

Responsibilities

Managing a varied caseload of commercial disputes, including breach of contract claims, company and shareholder disputes, and fraud-related claims; Conducting legal research and providing strategic, commercially-focussed advice; Drafting inter-partes correspondence, witness evidence, pleadings and interim applications; Liaising with counsel, experts and other stakeholders throughout proceedings; Supporting senior team members on large-scale litigation and arbitration matters; Co-managing client relationships and handling day-to-day communications; Attending client meetings, mediations, and court hearings; Contributing to marketing initiatives and business development activities across the firm’s sectors

Requirements

PQE: 1-3 years, 4-6 years; Experience Level: Mid Level (2-5 years); Experience managing smaller matters independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team on larger and more complex disputes; Strong technical legal ability and commercial awareness; Confidence managing matters independently while collaborating effectively within a team; Ownership of cases and proactive contribution to litigation strategy and execution; Adaptability and willingness to engage in all stages of a matter, from pre-action through to trial; Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills; Enthusiasm for business development and building client relationships
