Cook I

Do you have a passion for food and love creating beautiful and delicious meals? We're looking for a talented and motivated Cook I to join our amazing Culinary Team at one of the largest private country clubs in North America. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of a scratch menu focused on fresh and local ingredients for a restaurant and/or banquets and events. Follow the direction of the culinary leadership team in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Responsibilities

Preparation and presentation of a scratch menu focused on fresh and local ingredients for a restaurant and/or banquets and events; Follow the direction of the culinary leadership team in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation; Ensure and prepare all menu items by following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef with minimal supervision; Receive food deliveries, and store and label items properly to prevent spoilage; Set-up stations by checking and completing mise en place and pars; Assist chef with inventory and ordering; Execute all duties in accordance with DMC, ServSafe, and health department standards; Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic; At least 3-5 years of culinary experience in a full-service restaurant; Required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays; Required to stand for long periods of time

Nice to have

Prior experience in an upscale restaurant; Graduate of an apprenticeship program or culinary school
