CT Technologist, 1st Shift, Main CT Dept. Full time; 36 hours per week. Location: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist - Medical Center Blvd, Winston Salem, NC. This position is Sign-on Bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient; Properly identifies and assists patients while offering a brief explanation of procedures; Interviews patients for complete medical history and reviews EMRs; Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols; Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with Radiologist if needed; Performs basic patient care functions and initiates life support measures when necessary; Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; Practices radiation safety standards; Reports malfunctioning equipment; Adheres to hospital fire and safety procedures; Performs work accurately in crisis and emergency situations; Rotates shifts as required including call back, holidays, and weekends; Operates radiology computer system; Maintains assigned work area; Assists other medical personnel.

Requirements

Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology; ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire required; BLS required; Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development; Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
