CT Technologist, Inpt

Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies with regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist.

Responsibilities

Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies; Performs I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IV's, scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner; Injects IV contrast; Prepares oral contrast; Completes all associated paper and computer work; Discharges the patient from the CT department with appropriate post CT instructions; Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed; Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them for timely interpretation; Maintains accurate documentation; Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA); Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors; May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities

Requirements

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Licensed Radiologic Technologist - current NYS licensure upon hire required; ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire required
