Data Engineer III + SQL Development

We are seeking a highly technical Senior Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions in cloud-based environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong software development skills, expertise in SQL and ETL frameworks, and experience building robust data pipelines that support enterprise-level healthcare and provider data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a development-oriented mindset and be comfortable working across data engineering, automation, data quality, and cloud technologies. They will partner closely with Provider Data Management, Credentialing, Network Operations, and business stakeholders to build scalable solutions that improve data accuracy, accessibility, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting enterprise provider data platforms; Build and optimize complex SQL solutions, stored procedures, and data transformations; Automate data ingestion, validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes; Diagnose and resolve data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and production issues; Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions; Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes for critical data workflows; Leverage cloud-native technologies and best practices to improve reliability and scalability; Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning; Support CI/CD initiatives and DevOps automation for data engineering solutions

Requirements

Must reside in EST; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, Data Warehousing, or Software Development; Advanced SQL development and performance tuning experience; Strong experience with SQL Server, SSIS, and ETL architecture; Experience developing scalable data pipelines and integrations; Experience with data validation, data quality frameworks, and automated testing; Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills

Nice to have

Experience with Active Batch, Control-M, or enterprise workload automation platforms; Healthcare or Provider Data experience; Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; Experience building APIs and data integrations; Familiarity with Git, version control, and Agile development methodologies
