Data Engineer Informatica

As a Senior Engineer in our India office, you will support and develop client data platforms, with a focus on metadata management and data governance using enterprise tools such as Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).

Responsibilities

Platform maintenance: Run and support IDMC day to day, including Secure Agent management, connectivity, access control (asset groups, roles, SSO/SCIM provisioning), and environment promotion; Metadata engineering: Configure and troubleshoot metadata scans across cloud data warehouses, databases, CRM platforms, APIs and reporting tools, and resolve scan and profiling failures at scale; Data quality and governance: Build and maintain data quality rules, scorecards, business glossaries and data classifications, and keep them consistent across sources; Lineage: Map end-to-end data flow across the enterprise, so that data pipelines are visible and trusted; Automation: Use IDMC REST APIs, Python and bulk import/export to automate glossary loads, catalog clean-up, and governance workflows

Requirements

Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC in production (CDGC, Metadata Command Center or Data Quality), including platform administration, metadata scanning and lineage; Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using SQL and Python; Lead the integration of complex data systems and ensure consistency and accuracy of data across multiple platforms; Work closely with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical implementations; Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, ensuring high-quality project deliverables; Develop and enforce best practices in data governance, security, and compliance within the organisation; Strong experience with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and an awareness of concepts like containerization (Docker); Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and support the growth of more junior members

Nice to have

A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field is a strong plus; Optimise data retrieval and develop dashboards and reports for business teams; Continuously evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the data engineering function; Hands-on experience building and supporting solutions on one or more of Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow or PySpark; Informatica certification (IDMC, CDGC or Data Quality) or experience with other catalogs such as Collibra, Purview or Alation
