Database Developer

Wissen Technology is hiring for Database Developer. We are looking for a Database Developer / Data Engineer with strong expertise in SingleStore database optimization and Python scripting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving database performance, developing automation solutions, and supporting data-intensive applications. Experience with MongoDB is desirable and will be considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Optimize and tune SingleStore databases for performance, scalability, and reliability; Analyze and troubleshoot slow-running queries, indexing issues, and database bottlenecks; Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, monitoring, and system integration; Design and implement efficient data workflows and ingestion processes; Monitor database health and proactively identify performance improvement opportunities; Collaborate with application development and engineering teams to support business requirements; Perform database maintenance activities, capacity planning, and performance analysis; Create and maintain technical documentation for database solutions and operational processes; Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and best practices

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in Database Development, Data Engineering, or a related role; Strong hands-on experience with SingleStore (MemSQL); Proven expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting; Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data processing; Advanced SQL skills with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries; Experience working with large-scale datasets and high-volume transactional systems; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Strong communication and collaboration skills; Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

Experience or working knowledge of MongoDB; Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture; Exposure cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; Knowledge of REST APIs and data integration frameworks; Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices
