Director, Mechanical Engineering

As Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will play a key role in the design and manufacturing of our build system — a proprietary kit-of-parts for building high-quality multifamily housing.

Responsibilities

Lead design of both structural and non-structural build system components; Build and lead engineering team in charge of build component design; Full ownership of CAD model of components; Obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and approvals for build system components; Create engineering drawings and work instructions for build system component manufacturing and assembly; Design and implement production equipment, processes, and tooling; Track KPIs to understand how our engineering and manufacturing decisions impact the quality and $/sq ft of our buildings

Requirements

7+ years of experience in hardware development; Strong technical background in mechanical design, structural analysis, DFMA, and production; Experience with CAD and FEA software packages; Proven experience delivering large complex hardware products from low-rate prototypes to full-rate production; Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills

Nice to have

Bachelor of Science or higher degree in a technical discipline
