Director Medical Spain

Reporting to the Senior Director Medical Affairs Iberia, the Medical Director Dermatology Spain & Head of International Dermatology Medical Hub provides strategic and people leadership across two interconnected areas: the Spanish Dermatology Medical team and the International Dermatology Medical Hub. The role is accountable for defining and delivering an integrated, evidence-based medical strategy that advances patient care, supports the dermatology portfolio and strengthens Almirall's scientific leadership. The position leads the Medical Advisors for Immuno-Dermatology and Dermatology in Spain, as well as the MSL Manager responsible for the Immuno-Dermatology field medical team, while also leading the International Dermatology Medical Hub through influence and matrix collaboration.

Responsibilities

Define, align and execute the Dermatology Medical Affairs strategy and annual medical plan for Spain; Provide medical and scientific leadership across the dermatology portfolio and lifecycle; Ensure alignment of the Spanish medical strategy with Iberia, Global Medical Affairs and cross-functional plans; Lead, coach and develop the Medical Advisors for Immuno-Dermatology and Dermatology and the MSL Manager for the Immuno-Dermatology field medical team; Ensure effective deployment of field medical resources; Lead the International Dermatology Medical Hub, including its purpose, governance, priorities and annual objectives; Coordinate medical collaboration across countries and build an active medical community across the Hub; Develop and oversee a strategic stakeholder engagement approach with experts, scientific societies, healthcare and patient organisations; Identify evidence gaps and shape the local and international evidence-generation strategy; Oversee dissemination of scientific evidence through congresses, publications and medical education; Act as a Senior Medical partner to Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Development; Contribute to business-development and portfolio opportunity assessment from a medical perspective; Ensure Medical Affairs activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes and company policies; Own the medical budget and resource allocation for the assigned scope; Establish performance indicators and conduct regular reviews of progress, impact and risks

Requirements

Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or another relevant scientific discipline; Substantial experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including senior leadership responsibility; Demonstrated experience leading and developing medical teams, including both office-based and field medical roles; Strong experience in dermatology and/or immunology, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific and clinical evidence; Experience developing and executing medical strategies and plans across the product lifecycle; Experience in evidence generation, including clinical research and/or real-world evidence, and in scientific communication and publication planning; Proven ability to lead through influence in a matrix, multicultural and international environment; Experience managing budgets, external partners, medical governance and compliant operational processes; Strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare environment and relevant national and regional stakeholders; Fluent Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills; Availability for national and international travel
