Director, Pharmacy Services HomeCare

Oversees the overall management, operational integrity, regulatory and legal compliance, and financial performance of all home care pharmacy programs within the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) and the UR Medicine System, including home infusion pharmacy, enteral nutrition programs, durable medical equipment (DME), and other home care business opportunities identified and developed over time. Supervises the pharmacists, managers, and staff supporting these programs to ensure safe and efficient medication management for home care patients in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Works collaboratively across the system to deliver home care pharmacy services to patients of URMC and its affiliates. Contributes to strategic planning and provides direction for the development and implementation of new home care pharmacy programs and services that enhance patient care across the system.

Responsibilities

Oversees the overall management, operational integrity, regulatory and legal compliance, and financial performance of all home care pharmacy programs within URMC and the UR Medicine System; Supervises the pharmacists, managers, and staff supporting these programs; Works collaboratively across the system to deliver home care pharmacy services; Contributes to strategic planning and provides direction for the development and implementation of new home care pharmacy programs and services; Assures highly reliable, safe pharmacy operations at all UR Medicine home care pharmacies; Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations and accreditation standards; Reviews and manages all safety concerns identified relative to home care pharmacy services; Identifies needs for expansion and improvement of home care pharmacy services; Prepares business plans to enhance home care pharmacy programs; Oversight responsibility for recruitment and retention of staff for home care pharmacy programs; Provides direct management, supervision, and development of managers and staff for home care pharmacy operations; Serves as the primary lead for DMEPOS accreditation; Oversight and management responsibilities relative to budget performance for all home care pharmacy operations; Contributes to the creation of the annual operating budget and annual capital budgeting; Provides clinical oversight for home based services including clinical nutrition and respiratory care; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and 5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3 years of experience in pharmacy management required; PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in New York State upon hire required
