Domestic Companion Carer - Aged Care in the Home

At Right at Home, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We support older Australians to remain living independently and comfortably in their own homes through reliable, compassionate and personalised domestic assistance and companionship. We are seeking Domestic Companion Carers to support our clients with household tasks and social connection. Please note: This position is focused on domestic assistance and companionship. It does not include personal care, medication administration or manual handling duties.

Responsibilities

General household cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and bathroom cleaning; Laundry, ironing and changing bed linen; Kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and maintaining a tidy household; Light meal preparation and assistance with basic household tasks; Grocery shopping and essential errands, where required and within the approved service scope; Providing friendly conversation, companionship and social engagement in the client's home; Respecting each client's privacy, preferences, home environment and independence; Reporting any concerns or changes in the client's wellbeing to the appropriate office team

Requirements

A genuine interest in supporting older Australians in their homes; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Good time management, reliability and attention to detail; The ability to work independently and follow client-specific instructions; A current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle; Current First Aid and CPR certification

Nice to have

Previous experience in domestic cleaning, housekeeping, home assistance or aged care
