Engineering Intern

At Deliverect, our API-first platform is revolutionizing commerce by providing a connected suite of on and off-premise solutions. We empower both the food and retail industries to expand their revenue and simplify their operations, creating seamless experiences for businesses to sell anywhere and deliver everywhere. As an Engineering Intern at Deliverect, you will work on real projects within our Restaurant and Retail product lines, the core of what we do. This is a hands-on role where you contribute to actual features and improvements used by thousands of businesses around the world. You will read, understand, and adapt production code to meet product requirements, work alongside experienced engineers in an international, fast-paced environment, and get direct exposure to how a high-scale SaaS platform is built and operated day to day. This internship requires you to be present at our Amersfoort office a minimum of 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

Work on features and improvements across Deliverect's Restaurant and/or Retail products; Read, understand, and adapt existing codebases to meet product and customer requirements; Write clean, functional Python code as part of a real engineering team; Use the latest AI-assisted coding tools, including Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, as a natural part of your daily workflow; Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers in agile sprints; Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and team ceremonies as a full contributor; Stay up to date with the latest developments in software engineering tooling and best practices

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an MBO or HBO programme in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; Available for a minimum of 3 months as an internship / stage placement; Ambitious, curious, and eager to learn; Python is the language you breathe, or you are fully committed to being submerged in it; Able to read and reason about code you didn't write; Comfortable using or excited to learn AI coding agents like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar tools; Fluency in English is required; Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the country where the role is based
