Engineering Manager, Claude Platform

Developers and enterprises build on Claude through the Claude Platform. Anthropic is hiring Engineering Managers to lead teams that build the APIs and developer tools for the Claude Platform, including APIs and infrastructure for building and running agents in production, along with SDKs, docs, and tooling for developers.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers to ship high quality work quickly, owning planning, prioritization, delivery, and operational health; Partner with product to set the team's roadmap and bring a strong point of view on what developers need; Talk to customers directly and turn what is learned into engineering priorities; Guide API design and architecture decisions for distributed systems that have to stay reliable as usage grows; Work closely with Research, Safeguards, Security, and go-to-market teams to bring new model capabilities to developers safely; Recruit, coach, and grow strong engineers

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience; A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience; Experience managing high-performing software engineering teams shipping developer products, including hiring, coaching, and performance management; Product-minded and customer-oriented, with experience shaping roadmaps alongside product partners; Experience building and scaling distributed systems in production, with the technical depth to guide architecture and API design; Experience leading teams that ship quickly and hold a high quality bar; Ability to collaborate well across functions and align teams not managed directly; Care about Anthropic's mission and about developing AI safely

Nice to have

Experience building agent infrastructure or products on top of LLMs; Experience with identity, verification, access control, or trust and safety systems
