Engineering – Night Shift Multi Skilled Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team as a Multi-Skilled Engineer at our Nicholas & Harris site, part of Finsbury Food Group. Nicholas & Harris has over 180 years of heritage in craft baking methods. If you enjoy artisanal and speciality breads, our Salisbury bakery is home to some of the UK’s most recognised bakery products. The Multi-Skilled Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a wide range of production equipment and site services; Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to breakdowns, completing corrective maintenance activities and supporting installation and improvement projects; Diagnosing faults, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to minimise disruption to production; Supporting the bakery’s performance by reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability; Accurately recording maintenance activities through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS); Supporting the development of maintenance standards, equipment performance monitoring and engineering best practice; Working closely with Operations and Technical teams to drive a proactive maintenance culture

Requirements

Qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer with recognised engineering qualifications; Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment; Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems; Excellent communication and teamworking skills; Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure; Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement; Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards; IT literate with experience using maintenance management systems

Nice to have

Food manufacturing experience; IPAF qualification; 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
