Environmental Services Technician - Advocate/Atrium Health Union - 1st Shift Full Time

Responsibilities

Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; Vacuuming and shampooing carpet; Re-stocking restrooms; Replacing light bulbs; Reporting repairs; Assisting with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof when needed; Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes; Collecting and transporting soiled linen; Emptying trash containers; Changing sharps containers; Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors; Recycling material; Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas; Keeping equipment clean and orderly and reporting equipment failures or mechanical issues to maintenance staff; Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with procedures, rules, regulations, infection control guidelines and departmental quality standards; Attending required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs; Consistently meeting time schedules and deadlines

Requirements

Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner; Can operate equipment; Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers; High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred); One year experience (preferred)
