EVS Tech I

Responsibilities

Scrub, strips, polishes and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment and/or supplies; Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical; Analyzes floor or carpet conditions and determines proper cleaning techniques; Maintains hard surface floors and carpets; Exhibits timely and satisfactory completion of all job assignments; Exercises initiative by seeking additional tasks; Uses and maintains equipment, keeping clean and in good repair; Collects hazardous and medical waste according to hospital processes; Replaces and transports sharps containers to waste staging area; Collects soiled linen; Removes and disposes of rubbish from selected areas; Separates regular and recycle trash; Operates waste compactors safely and efficiently; Cleans and/or sanitizes all garbage/waste disposal containers; Utilizes AIDET with internal and external customers; Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts; Maintains confidential patient and departmental information; Relocates furniture, equipment, etc. as requested; Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs; Completes terminal cleans; Completes discharge room clean; Completes OR cleaning; Attends all mandatory departmental and hospital meetings and in-services; Completes annual CBTs; Maintains proper attendance and punctuality

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience; 1-2 years experience; able to operate small electrical equipment (i.e., vacuum cleaners); excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively in English (including reading and comprehending chemical labels and other safety materials)

Nice to have

Prior housekeeping experience; Basic computer skills
