Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of equipment and building systems.

Responsibilities

Support upkeep and maintenance of the infrastructure of the site including plumbing, roofing, general infrastructure maintenance, door maintenance; Maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition; Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds; Execute and resolve equipment breakdowns/repairs; Document planned and unplanned work via CMMS; Repair and install parts, tools and equipment; Maintain and repair facility/utility systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing; Leverage root cause analysis and predictive maintenance technologies; Follow applicable GMPs and safety procedures; May perform other duties as required

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility performing mechanical and electrical inspections, troubleshooting and repairs; Pass plant specific maintenance test; Valid Driver's License; Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift and aerial lifts certification; Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams; Ability to communicate/interact with all levels of employees; Ability to perform arithmetic operations and use precision measuring equipment; Computer proficiency for data entry and documentation; Attention to detail, mechanical ability, multi-tasking; Ability to make good decisions under pressure

Nice to have

Some college or formal technical school education; Demonstrated aptitude and skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, carpentry, plumbing, and welding techniques; Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations; Two years in food manufacturing environment experience; Mechanical/electrical certifications/licenses
