Field Service Technician / Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW: We have a great job opportunity available at nGeneration for a Field Service Engineer. This role requires the ability to identify and fix hardware, configuration issues, as well as repair hardware devices. Additionally, excellent client interaction skills are essential. Once you have completed your induction training, as a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for visiting customer sites to install, refurbish, and maintain various types of technical equipment, such as EPoS equipment, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi-Fi, and other industry-related IT equipment.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily visits to client locations for break/fix, install, refurbish and maintain EPoS equipment, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi-Fi and other pertinent IT equipment; Travel to client sites to provide on-site equipment swap-out services, minimising downtime; Perform setup of Wi-Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables on-site; Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware, or software issues during site visits, promptly escalating when necessary; Ensure troubleshooting steps and actions are well documented and signed off by the client before completing the task

Requirements

Ability to identify and fix hardware and configuration issues and repair hardware devices; Excellent client interaction skills; Experience in IT installations, Electronic Equipment Installation or a similar environment where electronic/technical devices/hardware are installed, supported, and troubleshot; Willingness to travel to client sites daily; Technical mindset with a logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting; Experience or knowledge in identifying faults with data network cables; Clean Full UK Manual Driving Licence (required; International Driving Licences not accepted); Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice to have

Previous experience as an IT Network Engineer, or Telecoms / Broadband Engineer, especially in the retail and/or hospitality industry; 1 year of IT support experience; 1 year of EPOS experience; Experience in installing, integrating, and testing EPoS hardware and software applications; Willingness to travel: 100%
