Flight Software Engineer (Space)

NewSpace Technical is partnering with an innovative NewSpace company to recruit a Flight Software Engineer for a confidential opportunity developing advanced space technologies. You’ll design, develop, integrate, and test mission-critical embedded software, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging NewSpace programmes within a collaborative engineering environment. Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and test mission-critical embedded software; Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline; Experience developing embedded software within aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics, or other high-reliability industries; Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills; Experience with embedded Linux and/or real-time operating systems (RTOS); Knowledge of embedded communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C or similar); Experience with software integration, testing, debugging, and modern development tools such as Git; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to have

Experience with flight software; firmware; FPGA integration; hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing; safety-critical development environments
