Founding Engineer

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI/ML company as a founding engineer, working closely with the co-founders to build its product and technical foundation. The team turns real-world company data into datasets that help AI agents handle complex work.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, United States.

Responsibilities

Architect and build core product infrastructure and systems.; Make technical decisions that establish the engineering foundation.; Collaborate with the co-founders on product strategy and the roadmap.; Contribute across full-stack development, DevOps, and system design as needed.; Help mentor and hire engineers as the team grows.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience building and shipping production software systems.; Experience designing and implementing backend or full-stack systems at scale.; Strong fundamentals in at least one backend programming language and experience with modern web frameworks.; Comfort with full-stack development and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or similar.; A track record of shipping quickly, making pragmatic technical trade-offs, and communicating effectively in a small, collaborative team.
