Head of Client Accounting

We are recruiting an experienced Head of Client Accounting to lead the accounting function within a regulated Corporate Services Provider in Malta. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading a high-performing team, and building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Client Accounting team, ensuring high performance, and professional growth; Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio; Manage client audits and oversee payroll, VAT, and statutory compliance processes; Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, GAPSME, tax regulations, and statutory requirements; Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency; Build trusted client relationships and work closely with Tax, Audit, and Company Secretarial teams; Monitor changes in accounting standards and support digital transformation initiatives

Requirements

University degree in Accounting (Bachelor's/Master's), ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional certification; Extensive experience in a senior accounting leadership role within a CSP or professional services environment; Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams; Strong experience managing client portfolios, financial reporting, and statutory compliance
