Health and Safety Advisor

Our Health and Safety General Manager, covering the DPD Network is currently recruiting for an outstanding Health and Safety Advisor to join their highly experienced team. Within this role you will help to drive a high standard of Health and Safety throughout the various sites you will be supporting. You will be responsible for checking and monitoring that those working within Network sites are working safely and in compliance with the various site rules, as well as making recommendations and supporting investigations into health and safety matters. You must be able to work effectively in a team and be able to communicate clearly to all levels within the organisation.

Responsibilities

Help drive a high standard of Health and Safety throughout the sites supported; Check and monitor that those working within Network sites are working safely and in compliance with site rules; Make recommendations and support investigations into health and safety matters; Travel to sites and carry out onsite visits at key operational times; Provide clear, concise and supportive recommendations to sites for improving health and safety compliance; Support sites in health and safety investigations; Record findings onto the relevant health and safety reporting systems; Work with the wider health and safety team on compliance and health and safety improvement projects

Requirements

Understanding of the application of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and its supporting legislation; Excellent communication skills in numerous formats; Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise and manage time effectively; Ability to work collaboratively and supportively within a team; Strong IT skills with experience of Microsoft packages or Google Suite; Full valid driving licence; Flexibility to travel and work a varied shift pattern; Ability to study to achieve a NEBOSH diploma (or similar level) within the first 3 years of employment if not already holding Health and Safety qualifications

Nice to have

Previous experience in a supportive compliance or health and safety role; Completed health and safety qualifications or training
