Health & Safety Advisor North

We are now looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and support us in the Northern Region of the UK.

Responsibilities

Providing professional advice and assistance in relation to health, safety and welfare compliance; Facilitating on-going improvements; Assisting managers and supervisors in complying with the requirements of health and safety law and corporate occupational health and safety requirements; Making regular visits to sites in the North Regions carrying out health and safety auditing and inspections of premises and safe systems of work; Providing advice and guidance for BMO management on the implementation of legislation and corporate policies relating to occupational health and safety; Proactively assisting managers in controlling day-to-day management of occupational health and safety; Carrying out health and safety auditing and inspections of delivery operatives, plant and machinery and safe systems of work; Undertaking regular visits to BMO employees on street (maintenance/cleaning/posting); Following accident reporting procedures in accordance with RIDDOR and company procedures, including carrying out investigations and submitting reports to the Health and Safety Manager; Assisting in the production and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures; Participating in Work Place Forums and administering relevant Safety Committees, Safety Action Groups and other ad-hoc meetings; Preparing and presenting written reports

Requirements

You must hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate with ability to translate legislation and standards into practical and succinct health & safety policies and procedures; Experience of working within an established risk management system; Proficient in the use of MS Office; The ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues; Able to work under own initiative and to seek advice when necessary; Display the drive and determination to meet targets; Full UK Driving Licence; Ability to travel and commit to overnight stays when necessary
