Intern LLM-enhanced in-vehicle personal assistants (f/m/x)

Our team at the BMW Group develops innovative in-vehicle personal assistants using multimodal large language models. We explore how voice assistance and graphical user interfaces can work together to enhance the in-car user experience and create seamless Human-AI interaction.

Responsibilities

Support core development activities using Python, incorporating LLM libraries and Pydantic; Contribute to the platform across multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Android Automotive and Azure Pub/Sub; Help solve complex problems and devise innovative solutions to enhance the MLLM capabilities of our in-vehicle personal assistant; Assist in planning and executing user studies with prototypes to validate concepts

Requirements

Studies in computer science, media informatics or a related field; Strong proficiency in Python; Experience with Android development using Kotlin or Java; Knowledge and experience with Azure or other cloud platform deployments integrating with CI/CD tools like Git; Experience in developing large language models; Ability to collaborate in research and development teams, contributing innovative ideas; Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have

Experience with multimodal LLMs; Experience with user-centered development and conducting user studies, ideally in voice user interfaces or automotive applications; Proficiency in German
