Internal Posting-3rd SMC Operator

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: produce and test the SMC material that is used to make fiberglass skins.

Responsibilities

Produce and test the SMC material used to make fiberglass skins; Data Entry: collecting data, triple shaft inputs, sheet weight, and moisture levels; Receive Bulk Materials: confirming part numbers, correct transfer line hook up, and weight; Chart Data: including all viscosities, triple shaft inputs, sheet weight, and maturation room temp/humidity; React to Out of Control Production Issues per SMC Line Control Plan; Perform preventative maintenance work in compliance with OAM and Ivara; Operate floor scrubber; Obtain samples for quality testing; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; E21 certification; Forklift certification; Crane certification; Hazardous Waste certification; Computer literate; Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Language skills: ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ability to write correspondence; Physical demands: occasionally lifting/handling up to 100 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs, constantly up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead to take down pipes and change film 3-4 times per shift, handling acetone in buckets up to 40 lbs, using compressed air to clean machine and blow glass lines, adjusting box-adjuster valves up to 75 times per shift, pushing and wheeling heavy objects; Non-physical demands: time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular work schedule/overtime, multi-tasking, working closely with others as a team, tedious or exacting work
