IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist (Network, Office Buildout & Physical Security) is the hands-on, on-site IT presence for Ontic's Pune office, focused on planning, deploying, and supporting network infrastructure, office technology, and physical security coordination to enable a smooth office launch and ongoing operations. This role partners closely with IT, Information Security, DevOps, Facilities, Legal, and local vendors to execute installs, troubleshoot issues, maintain a reliable and secure office environment, and keep required physical security controls organized, documented, and audit-ready. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00am-7:00pm (may vary once the office is opened). Ontic provides software that helps corporate and government security teams identify threats, assess risk, and respond faster.

Responsibilities

Execute IT workstreams for the active Pune office opening and startup phase, including network optimization, equipment staging, and day-to-day IT support; Coordinate with local vendors and contractors for maintenance, rack/IDF/MDF buildouts, and ISP provisioning; Maintain the office IT operational checklist and handover documentation; Provide on-site and remote end-user support and incident triage for Pune teammates (macOS/Windows); Own tickets from intake to resolution; Image, provision, and configure new computers for onboarding; Support endpoint administration and lifecycle needs using Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and Jamf Security Cloud; Support Android and Linux endpoints where needed; Support identity/access concepts such as SSO, MFA, and basic Active Directory administration; Support office printers and peripherals; Deploy, configure, and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and network closets/racks; Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues (DHCP/DNS, VLANs, routing, NAT, Wi-Fi, VPN, SaaS connectivity); Implement and maintain network segmentation and access controls with IT/InfoSec; Document network architecture; Participate in network change planning; Serve as local execution owner for Pune physical security readiness and vendor oversight, including access control, CCTV, and visitor management; Administer the office Genetec security system; Maintain site documentation and verify safety and security controls; Organize physical security evidence for audits; Support endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike, Rapid7, Jamf); Support meeting room A/V readiness and conference room equipment installations; Maintain inventory of Pune office IT/network assets and coordinate receiving, staging, and shipping/returns of equipment

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on IT support experience with a strong emphasis on networking plus strong endpoint support fundamentals; Strong understanding of network fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, DHCP, DNS, NAT, Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting; Experience deploying and supporting network equipment in an office environment (switching, wireless, firewall/security edge); Ability to read/create network diagrams and maintain accurate documentation (IP plans, VLAN maps, rack layouts); Proven experience executing IT work for office buildouts, expansions, or relocations (vendor coordination, installs, cutovers, validation); Experience coordinating office physical security activities, vendor workstreams, or site readiness requirements; Ability to maintain compliance-oriented documentation and evidence for office controls, safety procedures, and audit requests; Solid troubleshooting skills with a structured approach (hypothesis-driven triage, packet/path reasoning, clear incident notes); Strong communication skills and customer-first mindset; able to coordinate across time zones with remote teams; Comfort working with ticketing systems and maintaining operational discipline (updates, timelines, documentation); Strong working knowledge of macOS and Windows troubleshooting and support in a business environment; Familiarity with MDM/endpoint management concepts (enrollment, configuration profiles/policies, compliance, patching, lifecycle); Attendance: able to reliably commute and be in the office every workday; comfortable supporting occasional after-hours cutovers during office setup or network changes

Nice to have

Experience with enterprise Wi-Fi planning (AP placement concepts, RF basics, capacity considerations); Familiarity with security concepts and best practices for office networks (segmentation, device posture, least privilege, logging/monitoring); Familiarity with physical security systems such as access control, CCTV, visitor management, or related office security platforms; Experience in Genetec security systems; Experience supporting physical security controls in compliance-oriented environments; Experience supporting VPN connectivity and remote access patterns; Familiarity with basic cloud/SaaS connectivity troubleshooting (proxy/DNS issues, SSO impacts, egress constraints); Experience working with compliance-oriented environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.); Experience with Jamf, Intune, or equivalent endpoint management tooling (or strong ability to ramp quickly); Light scripting/automation is a plus
