Responsibilities

Design and implement backend architectures with Java and Spring Boot, ensuring reliability and performance across distributed enterprise environments; Build agentic systems and AI-driven workflows using Spring AI or LangChain4j, integrating intelligent automation into core backend services; Apply prompt engineering best practices to optimize LLM behavior, improving accuracy, consistency, and task-specific performance in retail use cases; Demonstrate ownership of technical decisions within complex backend projects

Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Backend Developer; Proficiency with LangChain or an equivalent orchestration framework for coordinating LLM-driven pipelines and agent behavior; Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation for APIs, system architecture, and developer guides; Fluency in English (B2/C1); Availability for a remote regime, based in Portugal (candidates should be based in Portugal and Portuguese or other EU citizenship, or a valid Portuguese work permit is required); Java; Spring Boot; LangChain4j; Large Language Models (LLMs)
