Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist (Full Remote - France)

We are looking for a motivated AI Legal Specialist with a passion for all-things-tech & AI to join our Compliance Team. In this role, you’ll be owning legal and compliance-related workflows/projects, guided by and working side-by-side our Legal & Safety Lead, Maxwelle Sokol. This is a unique opportunity to develop your legal expertise at the frontier of AI and e-commerce regulation, and join a growing Compliance team at a leading, fast-moving AI companion platform.

Responsibilities

Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI and e-commerce platforms; Preparing and maintaining required compliance documentation (GDPR DPAs, TIAs, internal documentation, AI systems inventory, risk assessments); Conducting product and feature reviews for consumer rights and data protection compliance; Owning day-to-day compliance tasks (IP issues, contract reviews, legal terms updates); Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments; Meeting regularly with Legal & Safety Lead to clarify questions and co-develop recommendations; Reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material as part of platform testing

Requirements

Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification); 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions; At least 2 years of experience working with contracts generally and data protection law specifically; Experience preparing Data Protection Agreements and Transfer Impact Assessments; Experience contacting vendors about contract-related issues; Experience in applying or interest in learning the legal landscape applicable to B2C companies; Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English; Professional experience or interest in AI; Strong communication and collaborative skills; Perfectly fluent in English; Goal-oriented, ownership and commitment; Doer mindset; Humble, willing to learn, open to feedback; Comfortable reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material

Nice to have

Full certification as an attorney / legal counsel; Previous experience in explosive growth startups, BTC, and/or AI compliance; Fluency in additional languages
