Laborer - OSP Data Center

The Fiber splicing Helper/Laborer will Assist the Fiber Splicing teams and actively learn fiber splicing for both loose tube and ribbon fibers, will learn and assist with fiber optic testing. No experience is necessary. Job Duties: Will pair up with certified fiber splicers and learn the day-to-day jobs of a fiber splicer which includes but not limited to, Fiber optic cable prep, splicing, testing, Fiber Optic cable placement in a OSP and ISP environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Fiber Splicing teams and actively learn fiber splicing for both loose tube and ribbon fibers; Learn and assist with fiber optic testing; Pair up with certified fiber splicers and learn the day-to-day jobs of a fiber splicer; Fiber optic cable prep, splicing, testing; Fiber Optic cable placement in an OSP and ISP environment; Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards; Read and follow design engineers' instructions and specifications; Maintain the scope of work on the project; Adhere to safety procedures

Requirements

Fieldwork may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours; Travel may be required depending on business needs; Ability to pass a drug screening; Must possess a valid driver's license; Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks; Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given; Education Level: High School/GED; Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; Ability to lift 75 lbs.; Ability to work in all weather conditions
