Laundry Associate

The Laundry Associate performs the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with company standards and federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure an adequate supply of laundry and linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of residents, patients, and staff members. Located at Ohio Living Sarah Moore, serving healthcare and senior living needs throughout the state of Ohio.

Responsibilities

Performs laundry functions, including collection, laundering, redistribution, and inventory of linens and personal laundry; Presses/irons garments as instructed; Folds, counts, stacks, hangs, and distributes clean laundry, linen, and garments to residents and linen closets; Ensures adequate supply of laundry and linen supplies in laundry closets; Ensures quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices are maintained; Reports damages or repairs needed to supervisor; Shares observations and insight to improve department quality and efficiencies; Attends all-employee, departmental meetings, and in-service training; Listens and responds to the needs of residents and staff members; Honors resident personal and property rights; Maintains current and accurate records; All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Tenth grade education required; One year laundry experience preferred (on-the-job training provided); Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language; Sitting up to 1 hour/day; Standing up to 8 hours/day; Walking up to 8 hours/day; Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients or equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds; Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled; Subject to residents/patients with various disease processes (occasional); Subject to falls, burns, odors, and cuts; May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, and conditions including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses; Risk Category for Exposure to Bloodborne Diseases: I
